Exxat Prism streamlines setting up course offerings for the upcoming academic year. Before creating a course offering, make sure all relevant courses are added to your Course Catalog. Once the courses are in the catalog, you can associate them with a specific term, professional year, and cohort.
There are two ways to add a course offering in Exxat Prism:
1. Create a new course offering
To add a new course offering, follow the below steps:
- Go to Courses>Course offerings
- Click on "+ Add Course Offering"
- Fill out the required fields in the drawer that opens
Note: If 'cohort' is included in the drawer, selecting it will automatically register students from the cohort to the course.
2. Clone from an existing course offering
Setting up course details, assigning faculty, configuring learning activities, and organizing course-specific resources can be time-consuming. However, once you have completed this setup for a single academic year, you can efficiently clone course offerings, making this task quick and straightforward.
To clone a course offering, follow these steps:
- Go to Courses > Course Offerings.
- Click on the newly created course offering.
- Choose the "Clone from" option.
- Select the course offering you wish to clone from the available options.
- Go to the next step and select the data you want to import to complete the cloning process.
Note: Repeat this process for each new course offering in the upcoming academic year to set up your courses quickly and effortlessly.
Using the above methods, you can streamline the setup process for your courses, saving time and ensuring consistency across academic years. Next week, we will explore how to register students for courses.
