During a placement, your program will request that you complete certain activities such as:
- Clinical Logs
Within Prism, you can access this information via the Coursework page.
Viewing Learning Activities via Coursework

Navigate to the coursework section by,
a. Click on the Coursework Section from the Old Student Dashboard.
Or
b. Clicking on the Left Hand Hamburger Menu and selecting the Coursework Option
Or
c. Clicking on the View all Coursework Option from the New Student Dashboard.
- The system will display all courses you are registered for.
- If you wish to see the courses that require placement click on Require placement tab
- If you wish to see the didactic courses you can click on Do No Require Placement tab
- The page will always list any current placements at the very top, followed by upcoming placements, and completed placements last.
6. The page will display all courses you are registered for, and will list ongoing placements first, then future placements, and lastly completed placements.

- You’ll quickly know if something needs your attention (wishlist, pending attestation, etc.) with the help of the Needs Attention column. Click View Details for the desired course.

7. You’ll then have access to the following information:

- Attestations:- any attestations that you program has set-up for you to complete
- Forms:- any forms that your program has set-up for you to complete.
- Add Clinical Educator:- you can add your Clinical Educator if your program allows you to.

8. Clinical Logs are specific to this course and you can view any clinicians associated with your placement.
Your program may allow you to add clinician details.
Click on + icon to add clinical educator
Add all the details of field instructor and click on save
9. Now click on the + icon or + Clinical Log to add the Clinical log.
10. Click on the + icon to add a Supervisor/Clinician, the drawer will open up to add the First name last name and email address. Once you have added the information please save.
11. Fill out the log and complete all the mandatory fields that are marked with the “*”sign. And submit.
12. Here you will be able to see the total number of hours under Total Logs and the no. of hours under each log statuses.
13. Click on the number of hours under 'Total Logs'. Here you will be able to see the bifurcation of the total hours under each statuses. Once you submit the log, you will have to send this to your Clinical Educator for review. Click on the “Send for Clinical Educator Review” to send the log to your clinical educator for review.
14. Click on send.
15. You can also resend the log to your Clinical Educator using the same option by clicking on “Send for Clinical Educator Review”. You can edit a submitted a log and delete a submitted log if it is incorrect by clicking on the log ID to open the log to make changes and resend.
16. You can edit the log or delete it by clicking it on the delete option.
17. The Statistics tab allows you to access the total number of logs submitted across all the rotations and a graphical report.
18. You can filter out the data on the basis of rotations and settings while generating the report.
How to Add a Clinical Log from your Dashboard:
We offer a quick and easy way to add clinical logs directly from your dashboard.
To do so:
1. Navigate to the ‘My Placements’ section of your dashboard.
2. Select the placement for which you would like to add the clinical log to, using the placement timeline.
3. Scroll down to the clinical logs section. In this section you can view the total amount of clinical time submitted, the duration of approved time, and the duration of time marked as need attention in this course.
4. Click on the calendar icon to view the dates for which clinical logs have been submitted.
5. Click on the Add Clinical Log Button to add a new patient log to this course.
6. A window will open for you to fill in the details of the clinical log. Once you have filled all the necessary information, be sure to save or submit the log.
